Explorer: How To Export to CSV
Save the whole data, a subset of data or the analysis results to a CSV
Why export?
Surely you have your dataset saved somewhere other than Relevance AI. However, you might want to save the analysis results or a subset of your data; for instance, a category view. The export functionality on Relevance AI is customisable. You can save
- the general overview alongside the metric results
- a subset of your data with your desired fields, more importantly alongside their corresponding tags/labels
- the whole dataset under all fields or your selected subset of fields
How to export to CSV
The export functionality is available on the category view. So make sure a category/cluster view tab/page is set up and selected.
Export the overview
This will only export the top-chart information as a CSV file.
To save the graphical view, right-click on the chart and use "save image as".
On a category view page, locate and click on the export icon on the top right.

A window will pop open representing the fields (metrics) that will be included in the download. Modify the list if needed, click on "Export data" and the information in the overview section will be downloaded as a CSV file to your device.

The export window components
When the Export icon is clicked, the export window will open which is composed of four main sections:

Relevance AI - Explorer export window
- Header where you can see how many categories are being exported (all or a number)
- Data to export where you can select to export documents or the resulting metrics
- Export type
- Standard format: one column per field
- Wide format: commonly used for AI Tagging results. In this format, when a tagging field is selected, there will be one column per tag. Values are True or False, indicating if the corresponding entry/document has been labelled with that tag or not.
- Fields where you can add or remove fields to specify which fields from your dataset to be included in the export
When done with the setup, click on "Export data" and you will receive an email shortly after the export is completed. The link to your file is included in the email. Another way of accessing the results is to locate the export entry under History and use the download button.
Links are valid for three days
When a CSV export is generated, the link to the file is valid for 3 days. You will need to rerun the export workflow after the expiry period.
