Release Notes - 19 November 2022

You say, “What’s that refreshing scent in the air?” You may not recognise it immediately, but those with a refined smell will quickly realise: it’s the irresistible aroma of the biggest release in Relevance AI history 🚀🚀🚀

In this release, we’ve hit you with three major updates (not to mention the usual tweaks and fixes):

A complete makeover 💇💄👗

A powerful bulk editor 💪

“Ask Relevance” 🗨️

We’ve a lot to cover, so let’s get cracking! 👇

Relevance AI is now far easier to use (and more beautiful) ✨

We’ve been working extremely closely with our users to redesign the platform experience. Our goal was to make it significantly easier to use - based on your brilliant feedback!

Now, we’re finally ready to release the results of this two month process; and we think you’ll love it!

Enter, the home of your data analysis 🏡

The first thing you’ll see when logging into Relevance AI is our new home:

On the left is a minimizable sidebar where you can toggle between organizations and projects. On the right, everything you need from each project in one click: your datasets, dashboards and workflows.

You can press Cmd + K on Mac, or Ctrl + K on Windows, to open our search bar and quickly jump to a dataset.

The goal is to make it as quick as possible to get to where you need! 💨

Dive into your dataset 🤿

Open your dataset, and you’ll land here:

Everything you love is accessible in one click, with popular workflows and dashboards featured.

You can tab into Data & Schema to easily analyse the raw contents of your dataset:

You’ll notice that our menu has moved from a sidebar to a top nav, where you can toggle between datasets and pages. Or click the home button to go back to the first page.

BOTTOMLINE - It’s now super easy to toggle in between your datasets, dashboards and workflows!

Quickly clean up data and make changes with the Bulk Editor 💪

You’ll have noticed a new button on the new nav bar: Bulk Editor. We’ve built a tool that helps you easily make updates to your data. This is particularly useful after you have run a workflow such as AI Tagging, where you want to review results and clean up where AI hasn’t 100% nailed it!

When you land on the Bulk Editor, you’ll see a few options:

You can set up a series of filter conditions to hone in on the data that you’d like to update. For example, here we have filtered for all documents that have been tagged with “work life balance”, where the content says “bad wlb”. We have then set up a bulk editing function to rename the tag “work life balance” to “bad worklife balance” for those tags.

Here, click Update 6 matching documents, and all documents that match these conditions in my dataset (in this case, there are 6) will be updated! Alternatively, I can select just the ones I want to update.

If you’ve run any AI Tagging, or set up sentiment analysis on your dataset, we also provide tabs that help you achieve bulk edits for those specific needs. For example, our Tags tab shows you the breakdown of tags in your dataset and provides some quick actions.

When I click “Review your untagged documents”, I’m taken back to the bulk editor drilldown with a filter preset.

You can also double click cells individually to edit their contents, rather than running a bulk update. You will notice a Save & Clear button appears in the bottom right.

Ask your data questions, have it respond like an old mate 🙋🏻‍♀️

Those updates not enough for you? You are a demanding audience, but fine! We are also launching a flagship feature, called “Ask Relevance”.

Ask Relevance allows you to literally ask your data questions, and we’ll use AI to answer them.

Filter your data and then Ask Relevance

One place to access this feature is in a Document View page in your dashboard. Apply some filters to your dataset and click the “Ask Relevance” button to pop out the sidebar.

You can now ask your data a question in English, to get a response!

Ask questions within your AI Categories

The other place you are able to Ask Relevance is within your AI Categories (Category View) in the dashboard. Click the Ask Relevance button in the top right to get started.

You can ask your categories multiple questions at a time:

The answers will be stored and displayed on top of your AI categories in the dashboard:

If you want to remove them, click the three dots next to Ask Relevance and delete your answers:

Note that this is our first version of Ask Relevance - it’s a really exciting and powerful feature, but has lots of room for improvement. We are hard at working making it better and better behind the scenes.
