Our new chart builder: master your data viz 📊

When analysing your data in Relevance AI, it’s often useful to set up charts that help you understand frequency and metrics.

We heard from you that our chart building experience was a bit clunky, so we dedicated a team towards redesign it from the ground up. We now believe our chart builder is one of the best in the world, and will help you unlock your inner data viz!

Charts everywhere

There are three places you can get started with charts in Relevance AI, all within your Explorer:

• Chart view, of course
• The “Aggregation Chart” component in Data Report view
• The “Charts” feature in Category view

You will notice the new builder is split into two panels:

On the left, you have your main configuration.

Select the chart type, then setup your X and Y axis.

As you do this, your chart will preview with real data on the right hand side.

It’s really that simple!

Apply advanced filters to charts

If you want, you can also set up advanced filters that will apply specifically to the chart.

For example, below I’ve filtered the chart for where the “Primary Categories” field contains a specific value.

We’ve launched with 9 different chart types, and will be regularly adding to this list! 💪

Introducing the Category Editor 🚀 ✏️

In our last release, we launched the bulk editor - which gives you full power over editing your dataset with powerful queries. However, an experience we really wanted to improve was specifically the experience of refining your AI categories or tags.

The bulk editor is powerful, but requires you to put together advanced filters and edits. We saw an opportunity to build a more streamlined tool for solving two of the most common needs our users want:

• Reviewing the contents of your categories/tags and quickly refining
• Reviewing your categories/tags at a high level, to merge or rename

And so we built the Category Editor!

There are two tabs in the Category Editor. Let’s start with “Refine category responses".

Drag and drop with ease!

When you select categories from the sidebar, the responses under those categories are listed to the right. We’ve made this view extremely condensed so you can very quickly scroll through and review the responses. It infinitely scrolls, so no need to worry about pages!

You can select responses that look out of place, and then drag them onto the category you want to move them to!

Done! Once you drag them onto the category you want, they will be moved.

AI based recommendations

We also provide AI based recommendations for responses we think should be moved, and where we think they would be better placed. You can accept these recommendations, or dismiss them.

As you filter categories on the sidebar, or use the search bar, these recommendations will respond!

Furthermore, you can use “AI enhanced” search to look for responses based on semantic meaning rather than key words. For example, in the search below we use “Yucky” - a word which never appears in any responses - yet we find some relevant responses.

Merge and rename categories

In the “Merge & rename categories” tab you are able to adjust your categories on a high level. You see all of them listed and can quickly select some to merge.

Notice how we start to highlight some categories in green as you make selections - these are categories we think are similar and may also want to be merged. How cool!

Even more AI based recommendation to improve relevancy!

On this tab, we also make more AI based recommendations to help you merge categories! Here it’s found some categories that are similar and grouped them together so you can merge in one click!

It’s now easier than ever to refine your categories/tags in Relevance AI, assisted by intelligent recommendations and search. ‘Tis the season to be jolly! 🎁🎁🎁
